The VETmobil for Sicily 

Project goals and details

  • Mobile Animal Aid: Funding mobile veterinarians to bring medical help to animals in remote or underserved regions of Sicily.

  • Support for the Impoverished: Help for pets of people in difficult social circumstances, for whom the animal is often their only loyal companion.

  • Donation Basis: The project is financed, among other things, by monthly small donations (following the principle of "caffè sospeso" / sospeso donations).

 

In many villages of Sicily, animals have no veterinarian. No help for injuries. No vaccinations. No comfort. This is where our journey begins to change that.

*The custom of "caffè sospeso", a local peculiarity rooted in Neapolitan culture since the early years of the 20th century and now established in many bars in the city: In addition to the paid coffee, a second one is offered. This second coffee is donated to those in need.
